DIY Wallpaper with a Sharpie

9.02.2011

I saw this ingenius idea on Full House and immediately thought of my daughter's bedroom project.  She's become a huge HGTV fan recently hence the bedoom redo.  We're in the brainstorming phase of the project, so it will be fun to add this great DIY to the list of options.  This would be so simple and inexpensive.   All you need is a stencil and a few Sharpies.  Wouldn't a metallic gold or silver Sharpie be fun?

Besides the first two photos that show the original post, I've added some stencils that I think would work well with this DIY.  My favorite stencil source is The Stencil Library.  I've just found Cutting Edge Stencils, which also has a fabulous selection.

The two photos above show stencil choices from Cutting Edge Stencils.

The three images above are stencil choices from The Stencil Library.

Happy Weekend!

This is a great idea. A few months ago we painted all of the bedrooms in our house and my daughter insisted on white walls. She is regretting that decision and I really don't want to paint it again. This would be so easy to do just a bit at a time.

Quelita, a reader, emailed me the following link. It's a fascinating article about a man decorating his basement with Sharpie.
