Mid Century and Pagoda Chairs

I've developed quite an interest in mid century furniture.  I'm not a fan of all of it, but so much of it really appeals to me.  The simplicity and clean lines are refreshing.  I'd love to add a few pieces here and there to liven up my too traditional house.  Last week I visited one of my favorite shops, Antiques Moderne, in the Dallas Design District and spotted some very interesting items.  I also learned more about the beautiful restorations they do on site.  If you purchase something, they will refinish or lacquer it for you.   Here are some examples of their work.

I spotted this credenza (the one on the bottom) and thought about how unbelievable it would be lacquered.  Oh my.

This chair is one of a pair that is in perfect condition.  Seriously.

The two photos above are of a Henredon console or sofa table from the 70s when Henredon was still manufacturing high quality furniture.  Would you lacquer or no?  What color?

Oh wow! I hope you picked up the chairs....the dresser would be stunning, and the console is exactly what I am looking for. Since I want a console for an upstairs hallway, I would say high-gloss white. This store looks like a home-run!

What a a great store. Love all of the before and afters and the first chest is fabulous...great handles!! After seeing the first images, I'd have to also do a white lacquer.
