Crazy for Red and Pink -- Reader Suggestions

I have a love/hate thing about Valentine's Day.  I'm mad for the color combination of red and pink, so I adore seeing all of the color.  I love chocolate, cookies, flowers and Valentine's cards.  What I don't like is it's so soon after my daughter's birthday (today).  Which is so soon after my husband's birthday.  Which is on the same day as New Year's Eve and right after Christmas which is right after Thanksgiving.  I think you understand.  However, the upcoming Valentine's Day gives me an excuse to look at and share pretty pictures of red and pink.

Do you remember this amazing dress that Natalie Portman wore to the Golden Globes?  Was that last year?  I can't remember, but it was my favorite.

I love the color blocking here.  And adding the bits of green is fantastic.

Did you think this was a book?  It's a Kate Spade clutch -- cute right?

From the Gap.  Adorable.

These colors are absolutely amazing.  The dahlias aren't bad either.

Beth, over at Chinoiserie Chic, obviously likes pink and red, too.

Last Friday, I asked for help choosing a slowcooker and received such helpful suggestions.  This Friday, I'd love some fashion advice.  My high school daughter has this dress (so happy she also loves pink and red), and will wear it next month for a party.  She's tall and will only wear very low heels or flats.  I don't like black shoes with this dress.  Thoughts?

YAY!!  It's Friday!

Love pink and red too!

For your daughter, how about a sparkly gold pair of flats.

Happy birthday to your daughter!
I love pink and red together, super feminine. As for the shoes, a lighter pink might work, as long as it is in the same family of pink.

Happy Birthday Jr. Pink Pagoda! I hear how all of those dates back to back can be difficult. However, look at the long stretch you have of free time. I like nude colored shoes.
