Dallas Fort Worth Share Day

6.14.2013

My post today is for the DFW peeps.  I want to share someone with you. This is a photo from my recently completed One Room Challenge breakfast room.  The chandelier was very dark and lacked contrast.  I found a painter, Matthew, through a friend who knew he would do a great job.  Matthew does faux painting, but had never done a finish like this.  I gave him several photos of what I wanted and was thrilled with his execution.  He completely transformed my chandelier.  When I purchased it at a local consignment store, I imagined it looking exactly as it does now.  I cannot recommend Matthew highly enough.  I will definitely be calling him again soon.  His number is 817-266-1587.  If you call him, please tell him you found him through me.

I'm going to share resources frequently here.  I'd love information from you, too.  Does anyone know of a person who does good gold leafing? What about a good wallpaper installer?  Please leave a comment or email me if you have any recommendations.  I'd be so very appreciative for some information.

That is great, Jennifer. I wish I had people in my town to recommend services for me. I am just winging it but found a great seamstress in the process.

I don't live in Dallas but my oldest son does. We visit a lot and I would love if you would list great shopping/thrifting resources. I feel like I always go the same places. Last time we found a great thrift store beside Uncle Julio's downtown. Bought my middle son some heavy bar ware for $1/piece!

Just beautiful! I didn't realize you are in the DFW area. I have a wallpaper guy but he is quite a character. He did a great job. Let me know if you're desperate! Have a great weekend.

Your painter did an amazing job on that chandelier. That is not easy to do. I'm a little jealous of it.

Your chandelier looks fantastic!!! I know that was a big project. I had an EXCELLENT upholsterer (he could probably do gold leafing) and custom drapery maker in Dallas, if you'd ever like their info!

I would love to find a good person to frame the outfit my daughter was wearing when I held her for the very first time when we became a family and her Qi Pao silk Chinese dress we had her baptized in. I would also love to know a good source for someone who lacquers furniture. I live north of Dallas so hopefully in the Dallas area!

Thank you so much!!!
