Landon Shockey's Guest Room

6.28.2013

Do you remember my post recently about Landon Shockey and The Gilded Stag?  Well, Landon's been featured again.  This time AY Magazine is sharing Landon's gorgeous guest room.   He used one of my prints in the room which I appreciate very much.  It's the navy Chippendale print matted in orange.  With the mat, the pillow and the bench at the foot of the bed, he's provided the perfect amount of accent color.  He saw my Craigslist post Wednesday and emailed to tell me that this orange bench was a Craigslist find.  I love the contrast of the bed with the bench.  Isn't Landon masterful at mixing it up?

Here's a link to the article.  It's much easier to read than the above.  And you should go read it.  Landon has great tips for providing guests with everything they need to feel very well taken care of.

I know I shared this already in my recent post, but I just have to share the Shaftesbury Cart with you again.  Landon designed the cart, and it's available through The Gilded Stag. I know lots of designers are working with Landon to build this cart to the specifications of their client's rooms.  If I didn't have a teenage daughter at home (I trust her, but you never know) I'd want Landon's company to make one for me.  What would you think about a Shaftesbury Cart in Hot Pink?

Do you ever want something to work in your house so badly, but it just doesn't?  That's how I feel about this Henry Link server. It's way too swanky for our house.  So, I'm taking it, and the mirror below to Lost Antiques tomorrow where I have a little booth.  Lost is having a big sale this weekend, and I'll have these, along with another couple of gorgeous mirrors, lots of prints,  and blue and white porcelain down there to peruse.  Hope to see you!

Happy Weekend!

I know what you mean about having the liquor out with teenagers around. Bar carts do feel so elegant though!

He is adorable! I met him when he worked for Tobi. Girl, are you sure that chest won't work either lacquered white or perhaps a navy or raspberry chalk paint??? Just saying, it is gorgeous!

PS, your print looks amazing & I just emailed you a before & after idea for that chest. Keep it! You can relax the overall effect with chalk paint.

I love the colors of blue and orange together. I hope to create a new look for my boys' bedroom using these colors. They are 9 and 12 and still like sleeping in the same room, but now looking for 2 full size beds to incorporate into the room. Any suggestions or sites to go to, that may help me design this room would be great!
