Off Topic Tuesday -- Time For New Shoes

9.17.2013

I'm such a "uniform" girl.  When I was younger I spent more time and energy on attire and appearance. Now, I want to have a "go to" bag and pair of shoes that will work with everything, and not require much thought. I picked these up Saturday and have already worn them once. They're comfy and will work with just about everything I have. Plus, I think they're fantastic.  J. Crew comes through again.

While I'm happy to wear animal print on shoes or a belt (not at the same time), I don't feel comfortable putting it in my house which I know puts me in the minority.   And probably makes no sense, right?  Interestingly, I had just seen and agreed completely with this post the day before spotting these shoes.  So, where are you on animal print?  Happy to have it in your house and for apparel? Neither?  One or the other? Please share.

Love these and just yesterday wore my leopard needlepoint flats...suddenly the weather is getting chilly and my open toe sandals aren't doing the trick anymore..these are adorable!

I was vehemently a no-animal print girl but I just bought the same type of loafer by Clarks. I think they are fun without being garish. I am a uniform-type too. If I find an item I like I buy one in every color or just 10 of the same color.

I'm all about the animal print lately! I only have a small splash in my decor but I have shoes, belt, pants, and scarf all in leopard print. I only wear one at a time though, don't worry! ha! These shoes are lovely.

I used to be opposed also, but my young stylish daughter got me over the hump! I think a little animal print is good in every room! ( like black) and Ive got the shoes. It's not a big commitment-try it! We were shocked how good it looks when you don't think its a possibility.

I just got the Talbots leopard print ballet flats....my first animal print purchase ever. I can't see ever using it in my decorating, but I am excited to add little fun to my wardrobe!

Have a great week!

I've got leopard print ballerina flats from J. Crew Factory and I could probably wear them every day. They go with everything! And I'm not opposed to animal print in the house either, but I don't think I have any. I've been looking for a cowhide rug at the right price though so as soon as I find it, I will rectify that situation immediately!

Now on shoes, I love it. In my home...you know how I feel. :)

I have flats, heels, coat, clutch, belt, pillows...needless to say I LOVE it. But, follow the cardinal rule of only wearing one piece at a time!

I had animal print in my home about 25 years ago when it was a big thing to do. If I added anything now it would be in a very limited way - like a small pillow or enamel picture frame.
But I am on the hunt for a great leopard print coat for fall or winter. That seems like fun.

I do have a pair of Faux leopard flats which I love! Like you I wear them a lot Jennifer.

You know I have thought about a faux hide for the house yet so far have not had the right spot! Ha!

I really need a pair of leopard flats, those are so cute!! I must say that I do like animal print in a home but nothing overkill, maybe just a pop of print on an ottoman or a few pillows :)

Must be the Boomer thing, but I have always loved leopard everywhere. As I type my bare feet are resting on the leopard carpet in my study and soon, everything not hardwood floors will be leopard carpet.

I love each color of leopard and love them together.

ps: a new leopard handbag is winging its way to me even as we talk. And then there is the Thibaut croc wallpaper going on upper stairs. I hope we can still be friends!

Love these! They would work perfectly with my 'uniform.'

I have had leopard print shoes and scarf in my wardrobe for over 15 years so it is a staple in my Fall/Winter wardrobe. I also have a sweater and I would love a skirt as well. I wear a lot of camel in the cooler months

I use to put leopard print pillow and throw in my family room for the cooler months, but have not done that yet in my new look for my family room.
Yep! major leopard wearer here.

Just ordered a similar pair from Lands End - hoping I'll like them when they arrive. I like animal print on a pillow or ottoman at home but that's about it.

So love your new shoes. I love leopard shoes and love a splash in my home. We actually used a neutral colored zebra print on club chairs at the beach and I'm obsessed with them - add a great touch of whimsy to the room!

I completely get where you're coming from - animal prints can go either chic or tacky, largely depending on the quality of the home decor or apparel item. After all, Snooki is a big leopard fan.... But your loafers and your home decor images are definitely all tres chic. :)

I'm feeling left out, looks like a trip to JCrew is in order!

LOVE animal prints, with the exception of zebra... I think animal prints bring a warmth to rooms that is sometimes so desperately needed. They definitely break up all the matchy-matchy boredom!
