Blue and White Monday with Cathy Kincaid Interiors

Image
Cathy Kincaid Interiors is very appropriate for Blue and White Monday. I've shared her work here many times, but I've never done an entire feature on her beautiful interiors.  As she uses blue and white beautifully, I'm overdue. Cathy is a Texas girl. She graduated from TCU, and worked for Joseph Minton before moving to Dallas in 1976.  One of the things for which she's most known is the 2003 Southern Accents Show House, which was spectacular. I spent an afternoon there, and enjoyed every minute. Her portfolio is extensive.  I've shared only a small fraction of the gorgeousness available to peruse.  To see more go here .  Well, what do you think?  I know you will have seen some of these incredible rooms before.  Do you have a favorite?

For the Weekend

Image
via Flowers by Carolyne Roehm Just sharing some pretty with you during the weekend from one of my very favorite books .  Who doesn't love beautiful flowers?  I wish I could sit and turn pages all day, but I'm busy, busy, busy working on The One Room Challenge .  What are you doing this weekend?  I hope something nice! Right now on  One Kings Lane  you can purchase a signed copy of  In With the Old , by Jennifer Boles .  Jennifer is the author of The Peak of Chic , one of my favorite blogs.  I never visit The Peak of Chic without learning something fascinating and helpful which I always appreciate and enjoy.  I'm sure her book will be full of interesting and very useful information, and I purchased my signed copy yesterday. Happy Weekend!

The Perfect Gift

In With the Old , by Jennifer Boles of The Peak of Chic , is the perfect gift for the interior design enthusiast. I'm a huge fan of Jennifer's blog.  I love blogs where I learn, and hers is full of fascinating design history and beautiful images.  Right now on One Kings Lane you can purchase a signed copy of her book.  I just purchased mine, and I'm thinking of going back and buying a few more copies.  I have some friends who would be thrilled to receive this! While you're there, check out the items in her Tastemaker Tag Sale .  So, so  much I'd love to have in my house!

One Room Challenge Week Four

Image
Welcome to Week Four of the One Room Challenge.  If you missed Week One, go  here ,  Week Two is  here , and Week Three is  here .   Linda, of Calling It Home , created and organized the ORC, and I'm happy to be participating.  The twenty bloggers seen above are redoing one room each in six weeks and posting progress every Wednesday.  The photo below is my daughter's bedroom room, and it's what she and I are working on transforming.  The goal is to put more color, warmth and life into this room.  The words my daughter uses to describe the look she's going for are boho-ish, vintage-ish, undecorated (she means not matchy) and preppy. Hopefully, we'll achieve something that's similar to what she's imagining.   So, the most exciting thing first. We commissioned a painting from my friend and incredibly talented artist, Kerry Steele .  Kerry talked on the phone with my daughter and asked her to choose a painting for the inspiration. She c

Little Black Door in HGTV Magazine

HGTV Magazine November 2013 I'm so very excited for Elizabeth Baumgartner, of Little Black Door , for her feature in HGTV Magazine !  I've been knowing for a long, long time that Elizabeth is going places, and now she's published -- IMPRESSIVE!  I also have to add how appreciative and happy I am that she used one of my prints in her seriously fun, fresh and incredible room.  Congratulations on your feature, Elizabeth!!

Blue and White Monday -- Blue and White Fabric

Image
Ralph Lauren "La Garoupe Indigo" When Alessandra Branca pinned this fabric to my group Pinterest board, " All About Blue and White ," I knew I HAD TO HAVE it.  I just received the two yards I ordered, and took these photos to share with you.  I thought I'd use it in my daughter's bedroom as pillow fabric, but now I'm on the fence.  With everything else going on in there, it may be too much. Which is fine.  It would be gorgeous in my family room, and there is absolutely no chance I won't be using it somewhere. It's beautiful in these pics, but even better in person.   Ralph Lauren "La Garoupe Indigo"   Ralph Lauren "La Garoupe Indigo" Fabrics have been a big part of Blue and White Mondays recently. First, I had Tiffany Jones, of Tiffany Jones Interiors , sharing some of her favorite blue and white fabrics .  The following week, Andrea, of The Glam Pad was here sharing her favorite budget friendly
