It's time for me to find a new handbag for fall and winter.  I'm too low maintenance to switch out bags all of the time depending on what I'm wearing.  So, I need something that works everyday. And, I want it to work for years.  I like to buy bags that are high enough quality that I can use them for a very long time.  Because of that, they need to not be terrible trendy.  What I find needs to be flexible, too, so a tote is a safe choice.  These are some that I'm considering.

If priority is price, this is the bag to purchase.  It's a fraction of the price of the ones above, and I love the clean, simple lines.  For an everyday bag, it certainly fills the bill.

Which of these is your favorite?  I have five I can't decide between...

1 and 7 have stolen my heart. I purchased a coach hobo in the same color of leather last fall and it's been with me ever since. I didn't have the heart to trade it out this summer like I normally do.

I've heard the TB York bag is a clear winner for all of the reasons you mentioned. I happen to like the Robinson double zip....
Excellent choices.

Beware of those narrow straps, they will dig into your shoulder! Especially if you carry it for any amount of time.

Of course my favorite would be #8 which is very pricey. I am currently carrying this bag & I love it. This bag is buttery soft & I get tons of compliments.. same color & similar style to some of your picks. Great taste.

I set a $1500 limit on handbags. An outrageous sum to some. A piffling to others. I have the Michael Kors Blake satchel which is similar in size and shape and leaves a lot more money in your pocketbook! You know for important things like fabric and stuff.

I love the Gucci. Today Erin Gates features a great Coach bag in a similar vein on her blog Elements of Style. Coach was so pedestrian for awhile but some of their new leather ware is beautiful.
