Blue and White Monday

10.27.2014

Here's a sneak peek of blue and white I'm using in my entry for the One Room Challenge.  This has NEVER happened before in the six times I've done ORC, but I'm finished early!  For a lifelong procrastinator, this is a feeling I've not experienced, and I like it. The photographer is coming today, so I've got much to do.

I haven't shared apparel in a while, so I'm going to show you some of my "go to" navy/blue pieces.  These are all items I have in my closet and are all from J. Crew.  How great is it that my daughter and I can love the same store equally while the items we're looking for are so different? Some are of these are older, and some have been purchased recently, but they've already become staples. While I'm on the subject, I love wearing navy, but I don't care for navy shoes or bags.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with them, it's just a personal preference. I think it comes from the days (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) when I, and everyone I knew had a navy Coach bag. And, not the revamped, rebranded Coach. Does anyone remember when a Coach bag had a subtle emblem you had to kind of look for?  So. I like wearing navy with leopard flats and a brown bag best.  How do you accessorize navy?

Congratulations on finishing early! How exciting for you. I have never finished early. I'm glad you did this post, I have been looking for a navy blazer, and this one looks like the perfect weight.

I was doing a pinterest search yesterday for "ferns in fireplace" and your ORC family room came up near the top! Loved it so much I followed suit and brought one in from the porch! Also never realized what a similar family room layout we have so I was studying all of your furniture arrangement. Can't wait to see your hallway reveal! xo

Looking forward to seeing the final edition and bravo on finishing early.

Also, bravo on having that great go~to collection, it makes life so easy. Loved hearing your thoughts on mixing in some tans with the navy, very complementary.

I am a huge fan of pairing navy with jade or turquoise jewelry. The color combo makes your jewelry really pop. And mixing a navy blazer or a more nautical blue and white striped shirt with southwestern jewelry is an unexpected combo.
