Spring 2014 One Room Challenge Week Five

Image
Welcome to Week Five of The One Room Challenge which is a blogging collaboration Linda, from Calling it Home , created and is the single reason I have any rooms completed in my house.  If you're coming in new, you can catch up easily.  Here's Week One , Two , Three and Four .  For the last ORC, I did my daughter's bedroom which is the photo above.  That painting by Kerry Steele was the focal point of the whole room.  This round, I'm doing my daughter's "hangout room," which is connected to the bedroom by a short hallway. With the new collection of fantastic fabric Dana Gibson designed for Stroheim, the company's fabrics have been more on my radar. When I went into a local fabric store and had to wait a bit for my fabric to be cut, I was happy to thumb through the Stroheim book, Blue and White Prints .  I'd forgotten how much I like these and snappped some photos to share with you. Did you see anything you like?  Check out the entire book here where there are many more lovely options.

Welcome to Week Four of The One Room Challenge.  YIKES. Week Four.  I've got LOTS to do still.  If you missed One , Two or Three , please feel free to catch up.  I'm doing my 16 year old daughter's "hangout" room.  Well, we're sort of doing it together. Only, I'm doing the work, while she helps make decisions. First, I'll share what's going on with the little wall with the trunk.  That mirror is going, and the two paintings below by Jennifer Andrews Anderson will hang on the wall. I've mentioned that this trunk has accompanied my daughter to camp many summers, and it has sentimental value.  Plus, we like the pink. What I haven't shared until now, is the top.  It has to change.  This trunk was first used the summer after 4th grade.  You Texas moms won't be surprised. Lots of Texas girls go to camp in Hunt, Texas, and their trunks are personalized and quite decorative.  This was all the rage amongst the 4th
