The Skinny on The One Room Challenge

Image
There's been curiosity and speculation about different aspects of The One Room Challenge. That's really no surprise with it being such a successful and unique event. Because I've just survived my 6th ORC, I'm a good source of information. Today, I'm sharing the skinny on The One Room Challenge. I'll be interspersing information with images from this last round. Panels by Christina Baker from my ORC Design Manifest The Idea Linda, from Calling it Home , and I had just met through blogging when she had the exciting idea to put together a group of bloggers to redesign a room over six weeks.  She ran it past me and asked if I'd be interested.  I thought it was a fantastic idea, and knew it was the perfect motivation to finish a room. That the event not be a competition was one of her priorities.  I liked everything about her concept and decided to sign on.  Clearly, I loved the experience as here I am just finishing my 6th One Room Challenge P

2014 Fall One Room Challenge || Final Week

Thank you for coming to see my completed entrance hall. I redesigned our very tired and lifeless entry for The One Room Challenge. You can catch up and see "before" shots  here .  It's been so much fun working with this space, and I'm thrilled with the results.  How exciting to get to share it with you today! Above and below is the view from the front door. These are the beyond breathtaking panels that Christina Baker painted for the entry.  I'm not sure if from the photos you can get a true understanding of the impact these panels create.  In person they're even more beautiful, and I'm wanting to spend lots of time on the settee enjoying the view. Christina was absolutely lovely to work with. Besides these to-die-for paintings I get to enjoy everyday, it was fantastic getting to know and work with her. Her work is available at Gregg Irby Fine Art , and also can be seen on her site . And, here is the spectacular lant

House Beautiful I felt like sharing bedrooms today.  It seems that everyone loves to see a pretty bedroom photo.  My Bedrooms Pinterest Board is one of my most popular.  While these I'm sharing today all have blue and white, they're very different.  And, even though they're different, I think they're all gorgeous. Green in blue and white is always so refreshing. I've added new blue and white items to my shop .  The three ginger jars below are a few examples.   And, below is a close up of the new Double Happiness vase I just added.
