Tobi Fairley has just opened a new online store, Tobi Fairley Home. She's selling her line of fabrics, pillows and lighting. Just like her incredible interior design, her store's items are fresh, clean, colorful and gorgeous.
And below are some of my favorite Tobi Fairley interiors.
Check out her collection and let me know which fabric is your favorite. I love Athens in navy.
Three new interior design books arrived at my door yesterday. I'm sure they're all amazing, but I can't put Katie Ridder's new book Rooms down to take a peek at the other two. She already was a favorite designer of mine, and this book makes me even more enthralled with her work. If you like Katie Ridder, I highly recommend owning copy!
Would you consider undertaking upholstering your own furniture? Linda, of the blog My Crafty Home Life, does her own upholstery and is showing readers how it's done. I'm so impressed by her level of knowledge and ability. She is basically teaching upholstery for beginners on her blog. She's started with necessary tools and goes on to tell her readers in detail and with amazing pictures everything they need to know to upholster furniture. She also has included a chart showing how much fabric is needed for specific upholstery jobs. I consider myself only mildly crafty, so I don't know that I would ever attempt this type of project. I still find reading about it fascinating. Check it out here.
Fall is my favorite season. After living through months of Dallas heat, the chill of fall is such a relief. The lower temperature brings a renewed energy that is always very welcome after a Texas summer. The weather also takes me back to the excitement and fun of back to school and football games (Texas again).
Ironically, the traditional fall colors we see everywhere between September through November are my least favorite. As a result, I'm not big on fall/Halloween decor. I like to do a general nod to autumn that can take us through Thanksgiving and skip the specific Halloween decor. With my daughter being in her teens, she doesn't care what I do with the front porch.
Here are some images that provide the perfect inspiration for me. Not themey, but instead simple and naturally elegant. I know my opinion here isn't popular. What are your thoughts?
