Beautiful RL Dinnerware Love these J ohn Robshaw linens I want this rug from Eastern Knots . Fun new Oscar de la Renta Dinnerware Lulu DK for Matouk  -- The navy and white is so crisp and fantastic. I hope you had a great weekend, and see some things you like here today!  I'm busy, busy, busy purging closets, drawers, cabinets and hopefully even the garage while my daughter's out of town for Spring Break.  If you have any tips for purging/organizing, I'd love to hear!  Especially if you have a secret for how to get through piles of paper while avoiding headaches, unpleasant language and extreme fatigue.

Make It Happen

via Rarely do I just relax on the weekend.  Do you?  This weekend, I'm taking off and just resting.  The ORC is over and I want a break, but part of the time I'll be planning the upcoming week. It's Spring Break for my daughter and she ditched us to go on a trip with another family.  We could be going to London to stay with Kate and William, and she'd still ditch us.  She's at that age where it's vastly preferable to be away from one's parents. Whitney English Since she'll be gone for the week, I want to make things happen around here.  I've got quite the "to do" list both for home and business, and I would be thrilled to really move it along while I have this time.  I saw this post on Whitney English and will keep referring to it for inspiration.   I finally got around to adding some new items to my store last week.  This dragon planter is one of them, and I'm crazy about it. Here it is on my breakfast table. ...

Enjoying My House

Image
The One Room Challenge is over, and this weekend I'm just going to enjoy my house. Linda, from Calling it Home , is largely responsible for the level of enjoyment I'll have.  I realize that sounds like an exaggeration, but without her having included me in the past three ORCs, I believe nothing in my house would have changed a bit.  And, I'm so glad it has.  The floor plan below shows where I park and walk into my house.  I walk through the side door past the laundry room which was my first ORC.  Then I walk through the breakfast room that I just finished which was my third ORC.  The next room I walk into is the family room which was the second ORC.  So, three adjacent rooms all finished because of Linda's One Room Challenge.  I so very hugely much appreciate being included!   Final Week post here Final Week post here Final Week post here And I want to say thank you to Linda for using porcelain fr...

One Room Challenge Final Week

Image
Before After Thank you for coming to see my final week of the One Room Challenge!  If you're coming in new, here's Week One ,   Two , Three ,   Four ,   Five and Six .   Linda, of Calling It Home , created and organized the ORC, and I'm so happy I got to participate. I've transformed my breakfast room; the before and after photos are above.  I'm so excited to finally have this room finished!  Below, I have some specifics to share. Above are the prints and framing before the challenge, and below you can see the changes I made. Above shows my sad blank wall; below shows it looking much happier. I started with this ceiling fan/light, and now I have the chandelier below. Before, I had a bare floor, a bare window, and chair seat upholstery I didn't care for.  Now, I've got a rug, drapes, and a striped fabric on the chairs that I love. Remember the talk about whether to go vertical...
