One Room Challenge Final Week

Welcome to TPP.  I'm so happy you've come to see what we did in my daughter's room for The One Room Challenge.  If you're new, you can see Weeks 1-5 here.  The One Room Challenge was created by Linda, and I'm very appreciative to have been included. My fifteen-year-old daughter and I had so much fun doing this together.  Albertina, from Mimosa Lane, took all of the "after" photographs.  The "before" photos were taken with my phone and it shows.  Thank you so much, Albertina, for doing the photography! I'm excited to have such beautiful photos to share.

Before

After
The painting was commissioned from Kerry Steele, and you can read more about it here and here.

The pendant shades are from IKEA and are covered with  custom fabric from sparrowsong.

Go here to read more about having the afghan made.

Slipcovered IKEA Chair

We added these IKEA mirrors and had the thermostat moved.

So, there you have it.  All done.  A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped create things for this room.  My daughter and I loved having so many things created especially for this space.  And thank you, Linda, for including me! Having both fun and a finished room is something about which to be very, very happy.

Do not miss these ladies' amazing spaces:

The new room looks great. The blend of pattern and colour is perfect. I especially like the wall with various prints and frames - not easy to accomplish with such balance.
I almost clicked on the connection for the afghan - I was certain it would take me to my Mom. It's a nice detail that I think is making a revival again, and this one is very neatly made.

AMAZING. Even though they are such a simple addition, I really think the mirrors are my favorite part. They just highlight the airy bright feel of the room perfectly!

I adore this room. The colors are my own favorites. The Kerry Steele painting framed in bamboo could not be more beautiful. You will have to arm wrestle to decide if that stays in your home or travels with your daughter when she has her own place. I love the Ikea items, the custom pieces, and that wonderful gallery wall. Your ORC rooms are always fantastic!

I want those trays on the nightstands.

What a beautiful room Jennifer! You gals work great together ;) Loving the gallery wall and the new bedding additions. And seriously those window treatments are perfect for her room! I just have one question...How did you paint over the stripes? Was there any sanding involved or did you just paint on over them? I've always wondered how one gets rid of paint treatments.
