Spring 2014 One Room Challenge Week Three

Welcome to Week Three!  If you're jumping in late, here's One, and here's Two.  First, I'll tell you that as I'm redoing my daughter's "hangout room" which has to somewhat relate to her bedroom, we're thinking about shades.  I purchased these above and below for her bedroom redesign.  It was a mistake.  I can sometimes forget that you get what you pay for.  These are Levolor from Lowes, and they're poorly made and have already broken numerous times.  It was for my last One Room Challenge and time was an issue.  I can also forget not to procrastinate.

Here's the window in the hangout room that needs some attention.

I've used 3 Day Blinds before for blackout shades, and always had a good experience.  I thought I'd try them for something more decorative this time.  A representative came to my house with samples and measured the window. My daughter and I chose the sample below, and placed the order.  Kind of the antithesis of DIY, right?   They should be here soon, and I'll give you a report.

And below is what we chose to replace the plain white IKEA rug.

The room was bare bones and there's so much to do.  Thank you Linda, for keeping us very busy over here!

Now, go check out all the other busy ladies!
